Niche Studio

Niche Studio is a contemporary beauty salon in Leith, Edinburgh. They were looking for a brand identity that felt stylish and premium, one that reflects the salon’s atmosphere and helps the brand stand out in a competitive beauty market.

The task was to create a visual identity that felt modern and elevated, but still approachable. The salon needed a logo and brand language that would look good on physical signage, social media, and digital applications, all while capturing the vibe of a contemporary salon experience.

I designed a bespoke wordmark using a custom-drawn chunky typeface. The rounded yet bold letterforms give the logo personality and presence, achieving a balance between elegance and approachability. The colour palette features a forest green and hot pink, a fresh, calming yet subtly playful combination that mirrors the salon’s ambience. A supporting typeface adds a fashionable, editorial edge, complementing the custom wordmark and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The final identity system is distinctive and expressive, and translates well across signage, social content and digital platforms, giving Niche Studio a memorable and stylish presence in Leith’s beauty scene.
